St. Pius X Catholic School END OF THE YEAR AWARDS GRADES 1-7 8th grade awards are given at graduation
SPX AWARD This award is given to the student in each class who displays the qualities of the model St. Pius student: Christian attitude; manners; consideration; respect for peers, adults and property.
DEL SARTO AWARD Pope Pius X, Guiseppe Sarto, was a man of great compassion - always caring for the poor, the sick, the underprivileged, the unemployed. This award is given to a student in each class who displays compassion for others.
EFFORT This award is given to the student in each class who has shown both academic and personal growth and improvement.
Academic Achievement This award is given to the three students in each class who have the highest cumulative grade point average in the following subjects: Religion, ELA (Reading, English, Spelling), Math, Science, Social Studies.
HONOR ROLL Students from 3rd through 8th grade who perform at the highest academic levels are recognized by being placed on the SPX Honor Roll. Students have the opportunity to make honor roll on a quarterly basis and an awards assembly will be held at the end of each quarter. All subjects are used to calculate a student’s eligibility for honor roll. The requirements for honor roll placement are as follows:
High Honors: A student must maintain at least a 94 overall average, with no grade lower than a 94 in any subject and no grade lower than an “S” in those classes which are graded on the Special Subject scale.
Honors: A student must maintain at least an 85 overall average, with no grade lower than an 85 in any subject and no grade lower than an “S” in those classes which are graded on the Special Subject scale.
Disqualification from Honor Roll: Any student who has demonstrated inappropriate behavior may be disqualified from consideration for honor roll.
